Maropeng is the official visitor centre for the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site. One of South Africa’s top tourist attractions, Maropeng boasts a world-class exhibition focusing on the origins of humankind and important palaeoanthropological discoveries made in the area. Maropeng is also home to the Maropeng Hotel, the Tumulus Restaurant and various conferencing facilities.

In 2005, Flowstars Tara Turkington and Richard Frank wrote all the text (about 80 000 words in total) for the exhibitions at Maropeng and its sister site, the Sterkfontein Caves, and in the process learned lots about evolution, fossils, the origins of Earth and life, and loads of other topics.

Flow built a website for Maropeng in 2008, and revamped this site in 2013, before designing and developing Maropeng’s current site.

Flow helps run Maropeng’s social media (follow Maropeng on Twitter and on Facebook), generates content for its site, covers events, and hosts and maintains the site.

Flow also helped Maropeng with some of its outside signage and installations, including a children’s play area complete with jungle gym and games, and in planning for a revamp of the internal exhibitions.
